A couple of hours ago, we brought you a report on some leaked hands-on images and specs of an upcoming Huawei device which was at that time believed to be either the Huawei Nova 3 or Nova 2s. Today, the company has tactically confirmed our doubt by sending out media invites for an event on Dec 7, where it would launch the Huawei Nova 2S.

The Press invite doesn’t much, but it does expressly hint that the Nova 2S will be launched on Dec 7. The Huawei Nova 2S will bring the full-screen design, a flagship Kirin 960 chip and a few other improvements to the Huawei Nova series
In case you missed the earlier leaked specs and hands-on images, the Huawei Nova 2S is expected to pack a 6.0-inch display with the resolution of 2160x1080p fitting in the current 18:9 standards, while it will be powered by the Kirin 960 processor with a 6GB RAM. Much like the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus, the Nova 2S will feature a dual camera setup; a 20MP+16MP rear unit, as well as a dual front camera setup.
The device will boot EMUI 8.0 UI based on Android Oreo out of the box with support for facial recognition, NFC for contactless payment as well as a built-in Hi-Fi chip. The device will arrive on Dec 7 in Black, Gold, Silver and Blue color options.

Today, the BBK owned giant Oppo has made a quietly unveiling of a 6GB variant for their newest flagship the Oppo R11S. The newest variant come to agitate even more the Chinese competition with so many recent launches.
The newest OPPO R11S 6GB RAM variant comes with a higher price than the standard version, with a 3,599 Yuan price tag which converts in about $545. It’s exactly $90 more expensive than the regular version, which is being sold at $454. There is a small catch though, users aiming to grab this new variant will only have the Champagne Gold option.

The Oppo R11S was originally launched in the end of October sporting a 6.01-inch display with 2160x1080p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio sitting at the FullScreen segment. Beneath the panel horsepower is ensured by the powerful Snapdragon 660.

Camera wise, the Oppo R11S packs a dual camera setup on the rear that resembles the recent launched OnePlus 5T, featuring the same 20MP + 16MP sensors both with f/1.7 aperture. The front facing snapper take pictures at 20MP and has some neat AI features to improve the photography quality.

Tecno Phantom A3 is a slight upgrade to the Phantom A2. It comes with a 6-inch display and a more powerful processor, but with the same battery capacity which could result in a lower battery life compared to the Phantom A2. Tecno Phantom A3 runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with 1GB RAM.
Tecno Phantom A3

The Hardware & Software

Looking at the specs the Tecno Phantom A3 seems like a needless upgrade to the Phantom A2. The phone may boast of a processor upgrade from 1.2GHz quad-core to 1.5GHz quad-core processor, but by retaining Android 4.2 (instead of at least Android 4.3 or even Android 4.4), we struggle to see the competitive edge of the Phantom A3.

Except you fancy the large 6.0-inch display, there are very little reason to favour the Phantom A3 over the Phantom A2. The included gyroscope may also give it some edge in gaming. It ships with 1GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage. Read More

Samsung is a well-known due to be constantly trying on new technologies and concepts for their smartphones. Consequently is very natural to see some crazy patents filings coming from the South Korean manufacturer.
There are dozens of projects that failed or succeeded in the manufacturer’s history, and we could have a glimpse of them always that the company filed a document stating it as their proprietary technology.
The latest patent filing was found at the WIPO (World International Property Office) and reveals a rather unusual phone with a totally curved display. Just looking to the documents says pretty much that we’re not going to see such smartphone in the near future, but it’s cool to see Samsung move in keeping their wish for innovation in the segment.

The smartphone showed by the patent filing features a 180º curved display, that is able to curve the front all way around to the backside. According to the company the new panel is able to bring “a completely revamped user’s experience”, as well as “improved grip.”
Looking to the current standards, competition and what users are demanding we don’t see much light in what Samsung is planning to do with such new technology, but considering their previous experience and success, we’re pretty sure they have something in mind. If you recall some years ago a smartphone with an edged display would look totally crazy, but then the Giant reveled the Note Edge that got goods result and later was refined in S6 Edge. So whatever Samsung plans, we’re confident that the company will adjust it according to consumers desire.

The Huawei Ascend P7 is a flagship Android phone. It is designed to be an alternative to mobiles like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 - that’s some serious competition.
An eye-catching design goes some way to justifying such a position. However, it isn’t as quick or swish as the best phones out there and lacks a standout feature to make up for this.
